Introduction
Vietnam is a resilient nation shaped byΒ its history and diverse culture. Emerging from a turbulent past, it’s experiencing economic growth, though facing challenges.
The Geneva Accords divided the country, leading to decades of conflict until reunification under communism in 1975. In 1986, economic reforms brought significant change, making Vietnam one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. However, challenges like corruption and HIV/AIDS emerged.
Religious freedom is constitutionally guaranteed, but registration regulations and persecution affect many churches. Buddhism is prominent, and ancestor worship is widespread. Despite these challenges, the Vietnamese Church is growing, adapting to the changing economic and social landscape.
